Terms of Use

Agreement

These terms are between you and EDGE & EMBERS DIGITAL LIMITED (company 9453299, NZBN 9429053902658), 28 West Farm Drive, Kaiwaka 0975, New Zealand. Contact: hello@edgeandembers.co.nz, +64 21 338 039. Mate is the service at mate-ai.co.nz and related owner apps. By creating an account or using Mate, you agree to these terms. New Zealand law applies. New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.

The service

Mate is an office agent for a business owner. You speak or type. Mate drafts quotes, does GST and payday maths you can check, and prepares chases and mail. You Approve before anything is sent. Mate is an agent, not a chatbot. Approve, not submit. The owner stays responsible for quotes, employment, and tax filings.

Limits

• Mate waits for you to Approve before money, email, SMS, supplier chase, or any outbound to a customer or supplier. Approve-and-send sends once.
• Mate does not file GST, PAYE, or anything else with IRD for you.
• GST 15% / ÷11 on quotes and invoices Mate drafts for your customer is NZ tax treatment in the app. That is not EDGE & EMBERS DIGITAL LIMITED charging GST on Mate plans. The company is not GST-registered.
• GST and payday figures are tools for the owner to check. They are not tax, legal, or financial advice. Holidays Act and IRD outcomes stay yours.
• Mate does not scrape the public web. It uses your books, mail, ingested knowledge, and the integrations you sign in.
• Connecting Xero does not make us your accountant.
• CarPlay is not sold as a Mate feature on these terms.
• Mate is provided as available. Quotes and figures are for you to check before you send them.

Your account

You must be a business, not an under-18 consumer account. Keep your login safe. Enrol two-factor authentication when it is offered. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Billing

When billing is live, subscriptions are charged through Stripe Checkout on mate-ai.co.nz. Apps are sign-in. They are not in-app purchases. EDGE & EMBERS DIGITAL LIMITED is not GST-registered. The price is the price. Cancel in the Stripe customer portal, or email hello@edgeandembers.co.nz. There is no 30-day money-back promise. Stripe for this entity is not live until verification and payouts land. Do not assume a card on file is already being charged.

Acceptable use

Use Mate for your own business office work. Do not try to make Mate send without Approve, file with IRD, scrape the public web, or act as legal or tax advice to your customers.

IP

Mate, the site, and the product copy belong to EDGE & EMBERS DIGITAL LIMITED. Your job records, contacts, and content stay yours. You give us a licence to host and process them so Mate can run.

Liability

Mate is provided as available. To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost jobs, or figures you send without checking. Nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot contract out of under the Consumer Guarantees Act or Fair Trading Act where those Acts apply.

End

You or we can end the subscription. Email hello@edgeandembers.co.nz. On request we will export your data for a reasonable period after the account ends, except records the law requires us to keep.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material billing changes will be emailed to the account address.
